What moves you?

.

We’ve had so many truly great Rock Singers.  From the Beatles all the way tp Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.  And the greats who have passed from their live such as Freddie Mercury of Queen.

.

I think it doesn’t matter at all who is the best.   What matters is what moves you.

.

So what moves you deeply?    What Singer do you go to when you are feeling something in your life and feel a need to express/understand and heal yourself through music?

.

The greatest Singers have told us that Life is all about love.   And about light and the emotions that make us feel good.  Even elevated.

.

The great ones have also shown us the darker unknown sides of ourselves teaching us indirectly that these need to be embraced and accepted as well for them to heal.

.

Aren’t l0ss and pain are as much part of life as joy and happiness?

.

Feeling and expressing the full range of ourselves can bring us to our own truth and our inner core much more directly than ignoring parts of ourselves.

.

Connecting with our ‘darker’ sides is even necessary and this just one of the messages of the great rock Singers and writers.

.

By dark I’m not advocating violence or hurting ourselves or anyone.  But embracing how we really feel.  Happy or sad.  Connected or lonely.

.

I wanted to tell you about someone who some believe may be the greatest rock Singer alive today.

.

Does it matter who is the best? No.

.
‘Best or not best’ is a mind game.
.

And completely irrelevant to music, which is in my life an emotional journey…the head can distract from what is real. From what is felt.

.

You might not even like to listen to rock Singers. Unless he really moves you. But maybe you need to. And maybe you need to listen to classical Singers because there is part of you there waiting to be discovered and uncovered.

.

The ONLY thing that matters is what moves you.   Searching for it.  Knowing it when you find it.  And giving it its due.

.

Fully allowing it to enter your life if it moves you.

.
Especially if you don’t think it ‘deserves’ a place.
.

This week I invite you to discover what moves you.  What touches your soul.
.

Listen to something you’ve never considered listening to.  And sing something, a genre maybe, that you’ve never before considering singing.

.

And find parts of yourself that you may not have even know exist.

.

Enjoy!

.

By the way, speaking of great rock Singers…Just in case you may have never had the chance to hear him yet…

.

If you’d like,  check out Jimmy Gnecco, type ‘  Jimmy Gnecco Darling ‘ into youtube.   This is for the song ‘darling’ from his solo CD.

.

If Chopin was a rock singer, he might sound like Jimmy Gnecco.
