21 Singers In 21 Weeks

What happens when 21 Toronto Singers with great attitude, aptitude and commitment connect with a great Vocal Coach/Singing Teacher for 21 weeks?

Someone who can work with you to develop, nurture and bring out the very best in your singing voice.

What happens when you add a Record Producer with Recording Industry experience, big label connections and industy know-how into the mix?

An International Record Producer with a history of success, who works with and develops Vocal Recording Artists for today's commercial market.

Musical Magic. The stuff of musical dreams where musically ANYTHING BECOMES POSSIBLE...where Singers, Recording Artists and Performers are dramatically propelled towards achieving the pinnacle of their Vocal expression and ability.

The Toronto Singing Development SHOWCASE is currently looking for 21 TOP Toronto Singers ( representing each of the regions of Toronto ) who demonstrate an exceptional potential for change as well as a deep burning desire to take their singing voices to the next level and beyond.

'This SHOWCASE is about change...discovering what is truly possible for a Vocal Singer/Artist with heart, passion and commitment, working closely with a great vocal coach and extraordinary record producer in a developmental environment .'

This is an opportunity for a few selected Singers ( 21) to create massive momentum towards becoming the very best Singer/Performer/ Musical Artist they can be. And within a very short time. Within 21 weeks to be exact!

Paul Gasztold, Toronto Expert Vocal Coach and Singing Teacher explains that:

'Key moments in life often become turning points in an artist's development, they are often the threshold between the good and the great, between hoping and truly achieving.'

How many singers are in Toronto today secretly dream of meeting someone with an extraordinary gift to bring out their very best?

The truth is that no one can do the work on behalf of a Singer. Each artist must apply consistent focused application of the strategies and tools that are proven to work.

But apply these tools consistently and with direction of a great coach and MONUMENTAL achievement is now possible.

The difference great teachers and coaches can make in an artists ( or anyone's ) life is truly extraordinary. It is not a little difference, often it makes ALL the difference!

While hundreds of aspiring Toronto Singers are expected to go through the application process, only a few dozen will be interviewed. And only a very fortunate 21 Singers are to be selected for the Toronto Singing SHOWCASE.

Each singer will be put on a 21 week customized intensive singing and artist development program that will be designed to bring out their very best with a focus on nurturing and bringing out their own unique style, vocal sound and personality. And making it commercially viable.

These 21 chosen singers will work with an exceptional up and coming Toronto Vocal Coach in Toronto. They will study, work with and master some of the very best vocal, voice and singing techniques in the industry ( the same kind of techniques that were learned by many of the best singers today ).

Their growth will be documented and watched by the rest of Toronto
( Youtube etc ).

Focus will be placed on the personal side of the music within each Toronto Regional Singer, locating, nurturing, expanding and totally expressing the unique personal expression buried within the heart of each singer.

Whie this is not a contest, or a competition, industry eyes will be on each singer.

While this could lead to very beneficial exposure as an artist, by far the biggest benefit to these 21 Singers will be who they become in the process working with a great Vocal Coach and Singing Teacher who is as passionate about their singing voice and personal success as they are.

'The SHOWCASE is all about who you can become when you give your heart and soul to something. It is not about what you can get from Life but what you can GIVE.'

In today's media frenzy about MAGIC BULLETS and instant success there is a belief out there that success comes from winning something. Real life isn't about having someone give you something. Real life is not about instant fixes or fame.

While there is a possibility that a record deal may result from this SHOWCASE, the focus will be much more about who you each Singer becomes in the process and what they do with your gifts.

Singers: Have you always wanted to work with a top Vocal Coach, a musical visionary who knows how to develop your voice, your sound and emotional artistic expression to its fullest potential to nurture and bring out the greatest artist within you?

This isn't a free lunch either, there is a cost to entry in the SHOWCASE. Each of these 21 Top Toronto Singers will benefit from a substantial scholarship, however they will still be expected to pay for a portion of their coaching. When asked the purpose behind the cost to the Singers in the Showcase organizers explain:

'Success is all about being committed and fully invested in your own success. 'We don't want someone looking for a free lunch, because those people expect success to be free as well. And it isn't. Success is about commitment and a total investment of yourself to yourself and to your team'.

This is very much a team effort between Singer and Coach. Each Singer's teacher/coach will be investing a tremendous amount of time, focus and energy into each Singers personal development. They will also expect a great deal out of each Singer.

Question: Why are you running the Toronto Singing Showcase?

Vocal Coach Paul Gasztold It is not enough to be great at what you do. You need to be seen by the industry as the best so everyone knows that you are exceptional.

In order to position ourselves as foremost Singing Teachers and Vocal Coaches within the music industry in North America we plan to showcase and document the very dramatic growth we've already been achieving with Singers in Toronto. We want not only good but GREAT before and after recordings/videos of a few great up and coming Singers.

We will capture the magic than happens when a passionate singer with great attitude and great potential works with a passionate and truly great Vocal Coach and Singing Teacher.

We wish to document the phenomenal growth rate that can happen when someone really applies themselves with the best singing techniques available. And for this we need to find really good Singers with great potential that we've never worked with before.

Question and Answer:

Question: What is the cost to the Singers selected for the Showcase and why isn't it free?

Answer: Rates to work with the very best vocal coaches are normally extraordinarily expensive ( often $200-400/hr, unless you were one of the lucky few who knew them before they became recognized ). The Toronto Singing Development SHOWCASE is a rare opportunity to work with a Vocal Teacher/Coach of a very high caliber.

Each Singer needs to be fully invested in their success because success isn't free, it takes a full and total commitment. The cost to each singer for their sessions ( once or twice a week ) would be approximately what it would cost to take lessons with an average-priced Toronto area Singing Teacher or Vocal Coach. This will keep the cost affordable to each Singer while still maintaining a meaningful investment and commitment on behalf of the Singer.

Paul Gasztold, Showcase organizer, emphasises that 'The truth is that ANYONE who is really committed to their dreams can get a part-time job to pay for a coach. That is what committed means....it means that you find a way! So many tell me that they are committed. But their actions tell the real story. AN INTENSIVE PERSONAL AND MUSICAL DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE THAT IS DESIGNED TO MAKE PROFOUND CHANGES

Question: What else will be required of the 21 selected Singers?

Answer: Each of the Top 21 Toronto Singers will go about their lives exactly as they are currently, with the exception that they will:

-See their vocal coach once or twice a week for 21 weeks

-Practice the homework given by their Vocal Coach on their own each day for at least 1.5 - 2 hours per day

- Receive Monthly coaching and artist development sessions with Producer Roy 'Royalty' Hamilton

'Amazing results happen when you put your heart fully into something and apply the right tools consistently over an extended period of time.'

'We're giving Toronto a chance to see it's best Singers become their best. We're expecting that Toronto will get a major dose of inspiriation this winter with it's TORONTO Singer Showcase, in addition to a healthy amount of entertainment and just pure FUN.'

Question: Is this a contest, or a reality show?

Answer: This is an 'amazing journey of the heart' that each singer will undergo with their coach. This journey will be documented and watched by Toronto as it happens. Although we'll only be selecting 21 Top Singers this is not a competition between Singers.

It is a competition within each Singer with her or himself in becoming the best they can be.

Question: What about those Singers who are really want to be the best they can be but aren't selected as one of the 21 Singer?

Answer: Hopefully learning about the Showcase and watching the documented before and afters will inspire and motivate everyone to be the very best they can be in all areas of their lives. And to really take the time to research and find the right coaches and people that can take lp them go to the next level.

Question: Is this for Singers who wish to become famous overnight?

Answer: The Toronto Singing Development SHOWCASE is for Toronto Singers who wish to be the best they can be in ALL areas of their lives. You cannot be a great artist unless you are a great person, making and living your life the way that makes your heart sing. Read a biography about a great Singer such as Celine Dion. Celine was all about being a great person in her life, devoted to her family and relationships and living a very balanced fulfilling life. Celine combined this around her TOTAL commitment to her Singing career. Anyone who applies themselves like this will be successful in anything they do.

Question: Is the ongoing development of the Singers going to be shown publicly?

Answer: We're looking into posting ongoing highlights on YouTube so Toronto can watch highlights of some of their favourite Top Toronto Singers have their coaching sessions right in their own living room.

Question: What ages will be accepted?

Answer: We'll be looking for representation of all ages across all Toronto Regional Areas:

* Singers between the ages of 14 and 19
* Singers between the ages of 20 and 29
* Singers of age 30 and above

Toronto Regions: Downtown, York, East York, North York, Vaughn, Scarborough etc ALL regions

Question. How much experience does each Singer need to have to have a chance to be accepted into the Showcase?

Answer: 'We are looking not just for the best singing voices, or necessarily the most experienced Singers, but those Singers with the best overall package, starting with the size of their heart and their willingness to give to others of their love and inspiration.'

Pro-ready and very experienced singers will have the advantage of already very focussed, however we fully expect to find many up and coming Singers who will really impress us with their attitude, heart and ability to dream. They will need to demonstrate a history of success in other parts of their lives.

Less experienced singers will also be considered who display other exceptional traits as well as great potential for change.

Essential Qualities for Success:

Successful candidates will already possess most if not all of the following:

* very coach-able: this means that you have a great willingness and desire to let go of who you are today and who you have been in order to become who you wish to become

* completely professional in attitude and approach

* totally responsible: you always do what you say you will do, with no exception

already have a very good singing voice with a strong desire to become as great a singer and artist as you possibly can become
*

balanced individuals who live a balanced healthy lifestyle

* very positive in their outlook on all aspects of life

*

Sing in a Popular / Comtemporary Singing Style and/or Musical Theatre, R&B, Rock, Pop, Adult Contemporary, Folk etc.
*

of minimum age 14 ( Singers under age of 18 will require not only parental consent but ongoing parental involvement and commitment )

willing to work very hard and put everything they have into the ( while continuing to live a balanced, healthy life )

While some or all Singers will most likely be showcased during their development as well as upon completion of the Showcase, each Singers career success and choices are up to them.

At this point we will be replying to some ( not all ) of the Toronto Singers and asking them to send a recording of their singing voice ( rough demo is ok, we can hear behind the recording and know exactly what we're listening for ).

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR VOCAL DEMO until we ask for it - we will only be listening to those demos of Singers who are invited to send it in. Thank you for understanding this.

Brief sessions will be set up for some of these singers and from these interviews 21 Top Toronto Singers will be chosen for the Showcase
